VC doubles down on inference as software's most important market, surpassing databases
buckymoore · x · 2026-10-06
Investor buckymoore reaffirmed his early-year claim that inference is the most underrated venture market, citing his backing of Together Compute, Inferact, and Reactor, and pointing to Tomas Tunguz's new article.
Tunguz's argument: in the mid-2010s, databases were the most important software category—2% market share was enough for an IPO. Inference is about to surpass that, becoming the most important market in software.
