Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Oracle are expected to lift capex from $412B in 2025 to $789B in 2026 — a 92% one-year jump — with combined annual spending approaching $1.2 trillion by 2029. At some point, investors will demand a return on all that spending.
