Part 3/4 of Elizabeth Yin's thread: the only investor who didn't buy the $50M ceiling on that Canadian startup was Aydin Senkut, who invested anyway — and the company became Shopify, now worth around $100B. Yin sees this as the whole case for investing outside Silicon Valley: great founders look like anyone and come from anywhere, and great companies are often easier to find in less competitive markets.
