Cambridge's Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence has launched a PhD in AI and Society, filling the gap after years of offering only an AI Ethics master's—the centre says setup work was the reason for the delay. The interdisciplinary program covers ethics, law and governance, training researchers to examine AI's effects on societies, institutions and individuals. Applications are open for October 2027 entry.
