A Narrative Tree Tool Rebuilds Chatman's Story/Discourse Model with Gemini
AI_Andrew · x · 2026-10-05
Designer Soumya built an interactive storytelling tool based on Seymour Chatman's 1978 Story and Discourse model: type a story seed word, fill narrative slots as branches grow, then Gemini writes the full story from your chosen path. A Lord of the Rings parody serves as the demo.
It's part of the author's computational writing series, simplifying a classic narratology diagram into a playable branching tree, free to try online.
