OpenAI's DayBreak security program called onerous, driving users away despite passkey workaround
maxxrubin_ · x · 2026-10-05
Max Rubin says OpenAI's DayBreak (cybersecurity) program is so onerous to join that he regrets buying a $78 YubiKey and is considering backing out, since mandatory hardware keys would make using his main ChatGPT account on his phone unpleasant. Rubin replied that he can still use Google/iCloud passkeys on his phone as long as the YubiKey is one of the options, prompting him to give it another try.
