Anthropic Puts $100M Into Claude Frontier Academy to Certify 10,000 Engineers by 2027

Anthropic has launched Claude Frontier Academy, pledging $100M to train and certify 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027.
- Training follows Anthropic's internal engineer standards: a 4-day in-person bootcamp (San Francisco, New York, London) where cohorts build a Claude system for a simulated company, ending in a hands-on exam for the Claude Resident Engineer badge.
- Learners then spend 12 weeks on a real Claude project back at their organization, followed by a final exam; the Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer certification arrives in early 2027.
- Access is nomination-based for enterprise clients and partners, with first cohorts from Accenture, Bain, Deloitte and Morgan Stanley; a free public Claude Academy is also available.
- The piece also examines how to verify AI skills: an Anthropic study found AI-assisted learners scored 50% vs 67% for manual learners on retention tests; Google released AI-generated guided practice exercises, while OpenAI and Google Cloud are rolling out their own AI certifications.
