Anthropic hides Claude Code thinking summaries again, sparking fresh GitHub issues
Dizzy_Log2916 · reddit · 2026-10-05
A user found that the latest Windows desktop Claude Code no longer displays thinking summaries as separate visible blocks in the "Thinking" transcript view — they're now buried inside individual tool-call blocks, forcing clicks to read each one.
The author notes this is a recurring fight: dozens of GitHub issues already exist (e.g. #63358, #75607). If Anthropic intends to retire or effectively hide thinking summaries, the user argues it should say so officially instead of repeatedly burying them without explanation. He asks whether a hidden setting can restore the old behavior before filing yet another issue.
