repOx packs 3k-file repos into LLM prompts in ~14ms, stripping 30k-token lockfile waste
Wvdy_CC · reddit · 2026-10-05
Developer WvdyCC open-sourced repOx, a Rust CLI/TUI that fixes "prompt pollution" when feeding codebases to LLMs: lockfiles burning 30,000+ tokens, binaries slipping into context, and slow existing packers.
- Speed: packs a 3,000-file repo in 14ms.
- Lazygit-style TUI (repox -i): toggle folders with Space, preview files, search with /, live token gauge before copying.
- Clean output: strips lockfiles and binaries via Git NUL-byte heuristics; repox -c dumps to clipboard.
- Offline tokenizer: token budgets for Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Llama context windows.
One-line install on macOS/Linux; MIT/Apache licensed.
