Phone Use: MIT-licensed app lets AI agents control your Android phone via MCP, no root or ADB

The author open-sourced Phone Use, an MIT-licensed Android app that connects existing AI agents to your phone. It exposes screen observations (UI elements and screenshots), taps, swipes, text input, and app navigation — no root, ADB, or per-app integration needed.
- Architecture: a local Python stdio bridge connects over HTTPS; you verify an eight-digit code and approve clients on the phone, with revocable access. A Skill/CLI path is also available.
- Examples in the README: an agent collecting 29 secondhand RAM offers from Xianyu and playing through the first floor of a roguelike (examples, not guarantees).
- Requirements: Android 11+, Python 3.10+ on the agent's machine, and a network that can reach the phone; keep the phone awake and unlocked; cloud-only MCP hosts can't connect directly.
Source, APK, and MCP setup docs are on GitHub.
