Dev ships one-day game demo Dark Veil: custom Rust + wGPU engine, procedural assets
Dimillian · x · 2026-10-05
Developer Dimillian released the first playable demo of Dark Veil, claiming everything — including the music — was built in a single day: a custom Rust + wGPU engine, fully procedural assets, Rapier physics, and a leaderboard with ChatGPT sign-in.
He says it's the rare project where making it is as fun as playing it. Planned next: more biomes with weapons and armor per biome type, so progression changes gameplay rather than just numbers; balance is still a work in progress.
