AI patent paper gets major update on SSRN with new revisions

Follow-up on the paper studying AI's effect on patent applications: the authors posted an initial version in Feb 2026 and have since made a large number of updates, with the revised version available on SSRN. The core finding stands — micro entities (very small firms and individual inventors) are much more likely to use AI in patenting.
