Xaira Unveils X-Design: Preclinical Lead in 7 Weeks and a Functional Antibody Against a Tough GPCR
BoWang87 · x · 2026-10-05
Bo Wang of Xaira Therapeutics introduces X-Design, the company's protein-design platform, with results from two active drug programs:
- On an oncology target, just 7 weeks from DNA synthesis to a preclinical lead, with epitope and reagents already prepared.
- A functional antibody antagonist against a challenging GPCR where both conventional library screening and llama immunization had failed.
Wang stresses the bar goes well beyond binding: antibodies must be human-like, functional, cross-reactive across species, and developable — all in the same molecule. These designs were tested in the lab and met real program requirements.
