Security researcher davidmanheim pushes back on Halvar Flake: AI security tensions are fundamentally technical
davidmanheim · x · 2026-10-04
Security researcher davidmanheim disagreed with Halvar Flake's economic framing of AI security on X. He argues the tension between user needs and least privilege is fundamental, and complexity compounds with many users and varied application requirements — from the difficulty of writing specs to validating and verifying against them. In a follow-up he adds that while these issues all have economic aspects, costs driven by fundamental system requirements and testing demands need technical solutions; insurance or liability regimes won't make them disappear.
