Open-source workflow extends static video shots with no degradation using masked bridge resampling
roychodraws · reddit · 2026-10-04
Reddit user roychodraws open-sourced a workflow (refreshingextender on GitHub) for extending static shots without degradation. Key tricks: a mask around the edge keeps the background locked; consistency is maintained via prompting, reference images, ControlNet and masking; instead of naively extending a clip, it generates two shots from the same static perspective, then resamples a bridge segment to stitch them. The author tested a finger-lift action — nearly seamless, with only a slight color shift when both hands appear.
