Reposting @alzzyd's observation: until a few years ago, no intelligent entity existed that was not obviously conscious, which led humans to assume consciousness is necessary for intelligence. LLMs are the first counterexample, forcing a rethink of the consciousness-intelligence link. A core AI-philosophy point, though not argued in depth.
