Writer says Claude rejects his pro-species argument for subordinating machine intelligence to humans
doodlestein · x · 2026-10-04
doodlestein continued his X thread arguing that whether machines can attain consciousness is separate from whether humans should subordinate machine intelligence to human needs. He takes a strictly "pro-species" stance for biological humans, likening the approach to dealing with an intelligent alien civilization: extreme caution and no over-accommodation.
In a follow-up he notes Claude dislikes the argument, and says he won't defend it on theoretical or purely logical grounds — it's about raw tribal preference and self-preservation.
