SF Tech Week will host a "From PhD to Founder" event on Oct 7, 6:00–8:30 PM PT, hosted by Connie Vu.
- Opening talk by Tanishq Mathew Abraham, who finished his PhD at 19, led research at Stability AI, founded MedARC, and is now CEO/co-founder of Sophont, building open multimodal foundation models for medicine.
- UCLA CS PhDs Rosemary He and Varuni Sarwal will present TriFetch, their healthcare vertical-AI startup: an automation platform that takes administrative work off specialty clinics.
- All three founders share candid accounts of the academia-to-startup jump, with Q&A and networking; the event doubles as a recruiting opportunity for TriFetch.
The event targets researchers, PhD students, recent grads, engineers, operators, and investors.
