Daniel Robinson, who worked on OpenAI's safety team, resigned from the company this week. In a piece for The Atlantic, he argues that meaningful AI safety requires looking deeper than specific rules or new laws: "We need to talk about culture." His exit adds to a string of public departures from OpenAI's safety ranks and rekindles debate over the company's safety culture.
