Claude Code built a watchlist site that turns on the TV and deep-links into the next episode in one morning

A Redditor's family watchlist web app: markdown files in git, a Python script syncing Simkl posters/ratings/progress into an encrypted HTML page on Google Cloud Storage, rebuilt by a headless Mac mini. With Claude Code he closed the loop — tapping a card powers on the Google TV Streamer and deep-links Stremio to the next unwatched episode, working from anywhere. Architecture: tap → Cloud Run → Pub/Sub → Mac mini listener → Android TV Remote protocol, with no exposed ports. Claude wrote everything and tested each hop against the physical TV over SSH, discovering deep-links (not package names) were required and catching a stale queued message replaying. Idea to working in one morning.
