Handing off AI-generated images as decomposed RGBA layers for designer edits
tinkerbellyie · reddit · 2026-10-04
A demo shows how Ming-Image-0.1-Design generates a design image and its Layer model splits it into separate transparent RGBA assets (monitor, computer, desk, background) that can be repositioned in new compositions.
Suggested handoff package for another designer: the original composite as placement reference; individually named RGBA files with pixel dimensions (Layer output is 1024px); a saved working composition preserving stacking order; and any headline delivered as an editable text object, since assets are raster cutouts with alpha only. The author invites discussion of which handoff item matters most for real edit-and-re-export workflows.
