2-step PDMD H3 LoRA tested: impressive for 2 steps, but H3 Turbo wins close-ups and speech
linoy_tsaban · x · 2026-10-04
linoytsaban tried the new 2-step PDMD H3 LoRA, a distillation of MiniMax-H3.
- Overall "very impressive" given only 2 denoising steps
- Compared to H3 Turbo: quality gap is obvious on close-ups and speech, favoring Turbo; comparable on other prompts
A follow-up links the Hugging Face repo: a 4-NFE student distilled from MiniMax-H3 via Projected Distribution Matching Distillation (PDMD), LoRA rank 128 / alpha 128 in bf16 (312 pairs, 1.38GB), Apache-2.0 licensed, with a full transformer-weights variant also available.
