Responding to the common claim that AI art is "soulless," Merzmensch argues AI itself can't create art, but people can create art with AI — and that goes far beyond typing a prompt. He says those who equate the tool with the artwork have likely never trained models on their own writing, explored latent space, or blended generated output with their own voice, and calls for more digital literacy.
