AI influencer 'Janie' built on ChatGPT gains 1,300 TikTok followers in one week

a16z partner Olivia Moore shares her AI influencer experiment in an essay and Fox News interview: Janie, a fictional 19-year-old curly-haired redhead born from a single ChatGPT-generated image, posted OOTD videos and dance clips through University of Alabama sorority rush season.
Her dedicated TikTok account gained 1,300 followers in a week with tens of thousands of views per video; the Daily Mail crowned her Alabama's 'most popular sorority star'—and she isn't real.
Her core argument: we currently treat 'AI' and 'human' content as distinct, but AI-made content can carry a lot of humanness from idea to execution (and even training data). Does it matter if your favorite creator isn't real?
