Open-source k6-based mcpload stress-tests MCP servers: 3,780 sessions, 0 errors

Reddit user AKM121001 released mcpload, an open-source (Apache-2.0) load & soak testing tool for MCP servers built on k6. Motivation: most MCP servers are tested with one client and manual calls, while real agents bring many concurrent sessions, parallel tool calls, and never-closing sessions. Key features:
- Simulates realistic agent sessions: initialize → tools/list → parallel tools/call → close
- Per-tool latency and error budgets (p95/p99)
- Soak mode with memory-leak detection (slope + cool-down recovery)
- Catches sessionnotfound behind load balancers (stateful servers without sticky sessions)
- Supports stateful and the new stateless 2026-07-28 protocol; ships a GitHub Action for CI
First run: the official server-everything (TypeScript SDK) in local Docker, 30-min soak — 3,780 sessions, 49k requests, 0 errors, flat memory. The author is now testing official Python, Go, Rust, and CSDKs and will share results with maintainers first. Repo: github.com/atul121001/mcpload
