WebMCP lets pages expose tools to AI agents directly, replacing screenshot-based clicking
TejasKumar_ · x · 2026-10-03
WebMCP is a new web standard (in Chrome origin trial) that lets a page declare tools—name, description, inputs, function—for any AI agent using the browser. The author wired his whole site with it: an agent with zero prior context answered "where is Tejas speaking this month and what does a workshop cost" in just 2 tool calls, pulling his 4 October conferences and all workshop prices. The before/after: screenshot, scroll, click the wrong button vs. a page that lists exactly what the agent can do.
