AACL paper: statistical correction restores valid inference from imperfect multimodal annotations
krisgligoric · x · 2026-10-02
Follow-up on a paper appearing at AACL main: accuracy ≠ inferential validity. Even when multimodal model annotations of social media videos are imperfect, statistical correction can recover valid downstream inference.
This lets researchers analyze social constructs like emotion, topics, and framing in short-form videos at scale, without sacrificing scientific conclusions, while keeping cost scaling in check.
