Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital, King's College London and Inserm report in Science Advances a brain-activity imaging technique based on magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) that is up to 60x faster than conventional fMRI. Preclinical data show it tracks neural responses within 100 milliseconds of stimuli, versus the multi-second vascular lag that limits fMRI.
