A French literary phenomenon—winner of the Prix Fnac, Prix Méduse, Prix Première Plume, tipped for the Prix Renaudot and in the running for the Prix Goncourt, Femina, Médicis, and Décembre, and being translated into 20 languages—has been flagged as almost entirely AI-written by Pangram.
- Testers checked multiple passages across the manuscript; nearly all returned "100% AI".
- Pangram is claimed to be the most reliable AI detector: a 0.0041% false positive rate (about 1 in 24,400 human texts); of 996,273 pre-2022 texts, only 14 (0.0014%) were flagged as partially AI.
- If true, this would be a landmark case of AI-generated content penetrating serious literary awards.
