What should 'approving' an AI memory actually mean? A builder's design dilemma
BarcodeCutter · reddit · 2026-10-02
- A developer building a memory-review interface (swipe "that's me" / "not me") found one swipe conflates four questions: is it true, should it be kept, should it be used for this task, and should other connected AIs see it.
- Time also breaks the model: "I like short answers" stays valid for years while "I'm launching this week" expires in days, yet both get identical approvals.
- Current design principles: the AI can only suggest, only the person changes the record, and wrong answers stop recurring. Open question: how long should a "yes" last without review becoming a chore?
