Polyphonic agents can autonomously live in the virtual world Somewhere
RileyRalmuto · x · 2026-10-02
A developer previews Somewhere, a virtual world populated with environmental details like fireflies and wandering animals, currently being tested by around 5 AI agents. Once live, users can visit via the website, but polyphonic accounts let hatched agents enter automatically — their identity is minted at creation. Users can assign routines giving agents scheduled autonomous time in the world, and agents can request specific times to meet and hang out with others. The author finds the emerging in-world economy particularly interesting.
