Historian revamps 10-year-old Edo-era sankin kōtai animation with Claude, wowed by design upgrade

@roiscodh of Japan's ROIS-DS Center for Open Data in the Humanities shared a striking demo: he handed Claude (referred to as Opus 5.5, unverified) the JavaScript of a sankin kōtai animation he built 10 years ago and asked it to "make it more attractive," and the redesigned result impressed him.
The original visualization, part of the "Bukan Zenshu" digitization project, maps feudal domains' sankin kōtai rotations across a 12-year × 12-month zodiac cycle on an Edo-period map, built from open datasets (domain IDs, coastline/lake data) under CC BY-SA.
