Gemini forces Samsung Clock for timers, user resorts to ADB to regain control
Qahlel · reddit · 2026-10-02
A long-time MultiTimer user reports that replacing Google Assistant with Gemini broke timer routing: every timer now lands in the vendor's stock clock app on Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus phones, with no setting to change it — a behavior confirmed by Google's own help pages. The only workaround found was disabling Samsung Clock via ADB. The post highlights how the new AI assistant regressed on a basic task the "dumber" Assistant handled perfectly.
