Anthropic launches Claude Code Mods: users can rewrite tool behavior and draw custom UI
testingcatalog · x · 2026-10-02
Claude Code ships Mods, letting users rewrite or replace what Claude Code does and even draw custom UI. Under the hood, mods are hooks shipped inside plugins — each a small JavaScript/TypeScript module that runs inside your session and sees every event in real time.
Mods can be shared via Claude Directory. As the poster notes, most client-side software can now effectively be "modded" — an early step toward personalized UIs.
