Claude Code ships Mods: TypeScript middleware to intercept tool calls and UI
lydiahallie · x · 2026-10-02
Anthropic announced Mods for Claude Code: a few lines of TypeScript can intercept internal events (tool calls, prompts, model requests, renders) and change behavior, plus custom UI and commands. Mods ship inside plugins and install via /plugin in the CLI or desktop app; you can write them by hand or have Claude build them. Lydia Hallie calls it 'middleware for Claude Code'.
