Only 31% of Americans now see college as very important as AI economy fuels trades training

A new Gallup survey finds just 31% of Americans believe a college education is very important — nearly 5 points below the 35.7% who hold a bachelor's degree — signaling the erosion of college as part of the American dream.
Nina Schick argues many will increasingly opt for trades training straight out of school, with some tech companies already setting up their own programs, as millions of tradespeople will be needed to service the infrastructure of the future "Intelligence Economy."
