fileroute: open-source tool routes codebase files in parallel with TypeSafe's Jev, no LLM needed
Arindam_1729 · x · 2026-10-01
Developer Arindam Majumder released fileroute (fr), an open-source tool that answers natural-language questions about a codebase by returning the files that matter.
- Each file is sent in parallel to TypeSafe's Jev, a fast "System 1" decision model that labels it relevant, maybe, or irrelevant with a confidence score
- Results stream in live, often while you're still typing
- No LLMs or embeddings involved — positioned as a faster alternative to semantic codebase search
The project is open source on GitHub (v0.1.1) with install, config, and usage docs.
