Six major AI companies sign voluntary White House 'Super Intelligence Accord'

Executives from Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and Nvidia signed "The White House Accord on Super Intelligence" after a luncheon with President Trump, who called it "tremendous self-regulation." The voluntary commitments ask companies to: build robust internal controls to monitor model capabilities and prevent rogue behavior; empower internal teams for oversight and remediation; partner with an empowered external monitor for independent assessments; and set up a board committee to receive reports. WIRED argues this is no substitute for the sweeping regulation labs themselves have called for — breach could count as lying to consumers but wouldn't trigger major reform. Meanwhile the FTC plans to investigate several AI companies.
