Cloudflare: build the next Git platform on us with Artifacts
dinasaur_404 · x · 2026-10-01
Cloudflare's blog asks: what does the next GitHub look like when hundreds or thousands of agents write code at once?
- GitHub was built for humans writing code; agents already fix bugs, build features, write tests and do maintenance
- Artifacts is a set of programmable primitives: a versioned filesystem speaking Git, scaling to millions of repos
- Repos can be created and forked programmatically, with versioned storage for code and agent context plus Git ops agents already know
- Cloudflare invites developers to build the agent-coordination, review/merge, and DX layers on top
