Plus subscriber: Sol 6.1 uses just 5% credits per task, roughly 5x more usage than Astra
penisbike69 · reddit · 2026-10-01
A Plus subscriber on Reddit shared a hands-on comparison: after switching from Astra to Sol 6.1 Medium, the same Excel task consumed only 5% of his 5-hour credit instead of the 20-30% Astra typically drained. Since the Astra release he's used AI heavily for Excel, PowerBI and coding, and token drain was his main pain point. His takeaway: unless you're doing genuinely complex reasoning, Astra is a bazooka for killing flies — Sol 6.1 effectively gives you 5x more usage for everyday tasks.
