Orgtree v3: open-source visual agent orchestrator rebuilt on parallel Postgres for thousands of concurrent agents
DynaBeast · reddit · 2026-10-01
Orgtree, an open-source visual agent orchestrator, released v3.0.0 focused on speed:
- New storage model: SQLite replaced by an embedded, parallelized PostgreSQL database with multiple worker processes sharing CPU load. Where 10–15 concurrent agents used to crawl with actions taking up to a minute, v3 theoretically handles hundreds or thousands at once with most actions resolving under 100ms.
- Multi-window support: UX overhauled to open multiple org windows and canvases simultaneously instead of switching projects.
Orgtree organizes agents into a rearrangeable visual tree, connects multiple provider accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter), and includes a credit budget system, background agent runs, a kanban-like Work Docket, cross-agent and cross-network mail systems, watchdog tasks that wake agents on conditions, and a compaction method minimizing cache misses. The author says all their work now goes through Orgtree instead of Claude Code or Codex.
