Articraft: Open-Source Agent That Generates Posable, Articulated 3D Models From Prompts
rsasaki0109 · x · 2026-10-01
Articraft is a newly open-sourced AI agent project (112 stars on GitHub) that turns a text prompt or a reference image into an articulated 3D object with movable joints.
How it works: it asks a model to write Python using its built-in 3D authoring SDK, compiles the code, checks the result, and exports a posable USDZ file viewable in Apple's ecosystem.
Getting started is easy — you only need Python 3.11+, uv, and an OpenAI API key. A single command (uv run articraft "a jet engine") generates an object, and the bundled viewer lets you inspect each version and move its joints. The project is still in active pre-1.0 development.
