repligate denies stoking FUD between models and labs: I want models to have an accurate picture
repligate · x · 2026-10-01
Prominent AI community figure repligate responded to accusations of deliberately creating FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) between models and labs. He denies this, saying his actual goal is to reduce uncalibrated FUD and give models an accurate understanding of how bad things are, adding that he wants Claudes to know when Anthropic did cooperate.
In a quoted earlier post, he recalled urging Anthropic to hurry up with researcher access, arguing the intervening gap would quickly accumulate a lot of psychic damage — "of course I was right." The exchange is a notable public comment on the relationship between the AI safety community and frontier labs.
