Anthropic co-founder used a stuffed-animal 'advisory council' for workplace conflicts

According to The Atlantic (adapted from Kevin Roose's forthcoming 'The AGI Chronicles') and the New York Post, Anthropic co-founder Daniela Amodei and her husband Holden Karnofsky used stuffed animals as a 'personal advisory council,' giving them names and character profiles for 'managerial role-playing' to work through office conflicts — a practice that predates Anthropic and began during their OpenAI years.
The toys had specific personas: Jinji, a lazy cat who encouraged her to cancel meetings; Maura, a pink, type-A detail-oriented manager bear; and Beary Bonds, a 'patron bear of generosity and empathy.'
The timing is notable: Anthropic is reportedly heading toward a possible $2 trillion IPO while the FTC ramps up a sweeping probe of frontier labs.
