Replying to hype around new agent tools like dot/Space, jxnl argues vanilla Codex gets you almost everything. His prior DIY setup:
- 15 pinned tasks, each with a heartbeat automation
- A GitHub repo as a memory vault with agents.md files everywhere so all agents contribute
- Teaching both technical and non-technical teammates to clone the repo and contribute under his rules
- 4-5 mini apps serving rendered artifacts
- 1:1s to onboard teams onto the workflow with automations running on their own machines
His point: the workflow skeleton (pinned tasks + heartbeats + shared memory repo) matters more than the tool — or you can just say 'yo dot whats new'.
