Microsoft launches Power BI Authoring MCP server for natural-language semantic modeling

Microsoft released a Power BI Authoring MCP server that lets AI agents create and modify Power BI semantic models from natural-language instructions: adding measures, bulk-renaming hundreds of objects, generating translations, and refactoring DAX, plus evaluating models against best practices. Two deployment options: a hosted preview endpoint requiring no install, and a generally available local binary over stdio that can also reach local Power BI Desktop and Power BI Project files.
