Ken Griffin gifts over $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon, the largest single donation in US higher education history

Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin has donated over $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon University — the largest single gift to a US higher education institution. The donation will establish CMU Miami and channel $1 billion to the Pittsburgh campus. Griffin says the goal is to reshape higher education to prepare future leaders and drive innovation at scale. He has given more than $5.7 billion cumulatively to education, opportunity, and health sciences initiatives.
