User chaumian breaks down the new credit system: 62,500 credits works out to roughly $2,500 of GPT-6.1 API usage. Half of the previous 20x tier before the halving was worth far more than that. He estimates his August API-equivalent spend at about $19,000 at 5.6-Sol rates and $46,000 at Astra rates, arguing the new credits represent a major downgrade for heavy users.
