One Year of Local Image Generation: Why Civitai and ComfyUI Both Fall Short

After a year of generating with open models, the author vents about the fragmented local workflow: Civitai has an unmatched catalogue but is buggy, ad-ridden and killed local generation via Civitai Link; ComfyUI is flexible but painful to set up, breaks on updates, and lacks gallery/iteration tooling; AI-toolkit trains LoRAs well but lives outside the generation loop. He wants a generate→curate→train→test loop with character-centric curation (identity scoring, dataset variety checks, LoRAs grouped by character) instead of juggling five tools — and has built his own tool while asking the community for alternatives.
