Simons Institute Report Lays Out 12 Actions for TCS Community to Respond to AI Progress

A two-day Simons Institute working group (Sept 9–10, 2026), informed by a 134-response survey, released "AI and TCS: The Next Six Months" with 12 consensus recommendations: standardized AI Methodology sections in papers, tracing the lineage of AI-generated ideas, conference rules permitting AI use with author attestation, and mandatory clear exposition of results and key ideas in the first 10–12 pages, with poor exposition grounds for rejection.
